Purrfect Kitty Mission is a foster-based nonprofit rescue serving cats and kittens in the Greater Olean area. Our work is made possible by a dedicated network of volunteers, foster families, veterinary professionals, community partners, fellow rescues, and supporters who believe every cat deserves compassionate care.
Meet the Team Behind the Mission
There is no single person behind Purrfect Kitty Mission. There is a team. From the person who answers a message, to the foster who gives a kitten a quiet room, to the veterinary professional who provides treatment, to the volunteer who transports an animal, every person plays an important role.
Leadership
Lynneesa Mitchell – Founder
Lynneesa Mitchell is the founder of Purrfect Kitty Mission. She established the rescue to help address the local cat population crisis through spay/neuter efforts, emergency intervention, veterinary care, fostering, community support, and compassionate placement of cats and kittens. Lynneesa works closely with members of the rescue team and community partners to coordinate care and create practical solutions for cats in need.
A Team Effort
Lynneesa works closely with Julie Stayer and Jennifer Ursoy as part of the team supporting the rescue’s day-to-day mission. Together, the team helps coordinate veterinary care, spay/neuter efforts, foster needs, rescue cases, community requests, and collaboration with other animal-welfare organizations.
Our Foster Families
Purrfect Kitty Mission is foster-based, which means our foster families are at the heart of everything we do. Fosters open their homes and hearts to cats and kittens who need safety, patience, socialization, medical care, and time to become ready for their next chapter.
We are incredibly grateful for every foster who says yes. Without our foster families, many of the cats we help would not have a safe place to recover, grow, or learn to trust people.
Veterinary Care & Spay/Neuter Partners
We utilize Lakewood Veterinary Hospital for routine veterinary care and emergency needs when appropriate. We also work with spay/neuter clinics throughout the county and seek out affordable veterinary options whenever they are available.
Our team particularly values working directly with veterinary partners in Attica and with Almost Home Sanctuary for spay/neuter and animal-welfare efforts. We may also utilize other low-cost clinics and veterinary resources based on availability, location, case needs, and scheduling.
Working Together With Other Rescues
Rescue work is stronger when organizations work together. Purrfect Kitty Mission collaborates with and supports other local rescues whenever possible. We believe that helping animals is not a competition. Sharing resources, information, referrals, and support can create more opportunities for animals and the people trying to help them.
Community Partnerships
We are proud to be connected to our local business and community network. Purrfect Kitty Mission participates in the Pet Supplies Plus Round Up program and is a member of the Greater Olean Area Chamber of Commerce. These partnerships help us connect with community members, gather support, and continue building awareness around responsible pet ownership, spay/neuter, fostering, and the needs of community cats.
Why Our Team Matters
Our mission continues because people choose to work together. We are grateful to every foster, volunteer, donor, veterinary professional, rescue partner, business, and community member who helps us make a difference – one cat at a time.
“It takes a community to save a life.”
Thank you for being part of our mission.
